I can't get this combination out of my head:
First-generation Toyota MR2
+
Honda K20A2 motor
+
Comptech roots-type supercharger kit for k20A2

People do honda K-swapps all the time on the Spyders. Most people do 3S-GTE or V6 swaps if they want to make big numbers with an AW11.

I don't want huge number. I just want about 250hp, which is exactly what this combination will give you while still maintain a linear torque curve.
Also, 8,100rpm redline. The system also only adds about 20lbs compared to the stock powertrain and you can still leave the 'Supercharged' stickers on the car without feeling like a fraud, haha. I personally have a huge soft spot for superchargers.
The reason I don't like V6 swaps in AW11's is because,
They're too common
They add too much weight
Generally lower redline
As for the 3S-GTE swap, it's just too....expected. I like the surprise factor of an MR2 with the best Honda motor ever developed (in my opinion). If there's one thing Honda can build, it's a damned good engine. If there's one thing Toyota can build, it's an awesome platform and chassis.
Also, parts for the K20A2 are insanely plentiful.

Oh I completely understand. Plus, if the K-series is an aluminum block, it will likely be quite a bit lighter than the 4A-GE, let alone the tank that is the 4A-GZE. The 4A-GZE, 3S-GTE and 2GR-FE all weigh pretty close to the same, none are particularly light weight, but they are all very stout and take boost like a champ. The 3S and 2GR in particular make really great torque.
That said, I personally would love to see a nice NA built-KA with around 250whp on some hot cams and ITB's put in an AW with some proper gearing. It would be like a mini NSX.

I wouldn't mind NA either, but I just LOVE the whine of a good roots-type supercharger. Plus, I feel like an AW11 sort of has to be supercharged, haha.
